After experiencing the delectable high of getting a lot of TikTok likes on my evil wizard comic I decided to make good on one of my longstanding goals in life. That goal is to self publish a short zine so that I have a zine to trade with cool people who make zines.

Luckily my evil wizard comic is the right length for the classic 8 page zine format. I first saw the 8 page zine on livejournal back in jr. high, but I’m sure it’s been around much longer than that. See the diagram below to see how a single, one sided sheet of paper can be folded into an 8 page zine.

Actually arranging my comic panels into the grid format for printing looked annoying to me, but I remembered I actually know quite a bit about manipulating PDFs with Typescript. So, instead of fiddling with image editing software, I put together this quick web app to convert 8 images into a 1 page PDF that can be printed and folded into a zine.
